DIRECTIONS TO EVENT: To Lake El Reno: From OKC take I-40 west to El Reno, exit Country Club Rd (Exit 123). Go north 1 mile to Elm St. Go west (turn left) on Elm St. and road will lead straight in the parking/race start area. Look for the El Reno water tower.

SPECIAL DESIGNATIONS
Route 66 International Distance Triathlon on Sunday, June 6 is the 2010 USAT Regional Qualifier for 2010 National Championship and is also the 2010 State Qualifier for Best of the US National Amateur Championship. The Oklahoma Best of the US Qualifiers that represent Oklahoma at the National Championship will also receive $500 travel expenses.
The South Midwest Regional Championship qualifies the top 33% per age group for the USAT Age Group National Championship in Tuscaloosa, AL on September 25, 2010. For more information on the Age Group National Championship visit USAT CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS.

ROUTE 66 FESTIVUS PACKAGE
What is Route 66 Festivus?? The ultimate “Feat of Strength” Triathlon! Do BOTH the Sprint Tri on Saturday and International Distance Tri on Sunday at a discounted rate. Route 66 License Plates will be awarded to all finishers of both events. FESTIVUS FOR THE REST OF US!

THE COURSE
SATURDAY, SPRINT DISTANCE TRI
USAT Sanctioned courses. The 500 meter swim is an open water swim in Lake El Reno. Triangle course. Wetsuits should be permitted, lake temperature should approximately be mid 70’s. Watch message board at www.triokc.org for lake temperature updates.

The 13 mile bike course is out and back, the majority being on Route 66 is mainly slight inclines.

The 5K run course is NEWLY-PAVED, flat and winding asphalt road, out and back course.

SUNDAY, INTERNATIONAL DISTANCE TRI
USAT Sanctioned courses. The 1500 meter swim is an open water swim in Lake El Reno. Triangle course. Wetsuits should be permitted, lake temperature should approximately be mid 70’s. Watch message board at www.triokc.org for lake temperature updates.

The 40K bike course is an out and back, 2-loop version of the sprint course, the majority being on Route 66, relatively flat with some slight inclines.
The 10K run course is NEWLY-PAVED, flat and winding asphalt road, (2-loop) out and back course.

New addition in 2009 on Sunday is the Route 66 International distance Aquabike (swim-bike, only). Same course as the International Distance Triathlon, but you don’t have to run!

SPECIAL ATTENTION SWIM WAVE (Saturday and Sunday)
For those that are either new to the sport, not comfortable with a “WWF/egg-beater” swim start, or don’t enjoy being over-taken by later waves…Route 66 offers a Special Attention Swim Wave for those who that might fit into one of the forementioned catagories. During your registration you will be asked if you desire to be included into the Special Last Wave. If you have any doubts or apprehension….this is the wave for you and you’ll be glad you did!

AWARDS AND SWAG
Standard USAT Age Group awards will be given, including Overall, Masters, Grand Masters, Clydesdale, Athena, Physically Challenged and age groups below 19. “Best of the US” medals will be given to the top 3 overall male and female Oklahoma residents on Sunday’s event.

There will be NO RACE DAY REGISTRATIONS. NO TRANSFERS & NO REFUNDS. YOU, AND ONLY YOU, MAY PICK UP YOUR RACE PACKET. Have your photo ID plus your USAT membership card, unless you’re purchasing a one-day pass. You cannot pickup somebody else’s packet and vice versa. PACKET PICKUP:

REGISTRATION DETAILS & LATE REGISTRATION
Register early and on-line!!! ROUTE 66 WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTING ON-LINE REGISTRATION. REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE ON THURSDAY, JUNE 3RD, 11:59pm…..NO EXCEPTIONS AND NO WALK-IN REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. NO TRANSFERS, NO REFUNDS AFTER MAY 1st. REFUNDS BEFORE MAY 1 WILL BE A 50% REFUND, minus service charge.

EVENT DAY PARKING
There will be parking on grass, by the El Reno water tower. Please follow volunteer directions to this area. YOU MUST BE ON THE GRASS AND MUST BE 50 FEET AWAY FROM THE PAVEMENT.

CHAMPIONCHIP TIMING & RACE RESULTS
This will be Championchip Timed Event. You will be given your chip race day morning. It will be removed after you cross the finish line. If you drop out of the race PLEASE be sure to return the chip to a “Chip” volunteer at the finish line. If not returned, you will incur a $35 replacement fee.

Host Hotels in El Reno will made available at a special room rate. Host Hotels are located at Country Club Road and I-40 (Exit 123), approximately 1 mile south of race event. Please book by May 21st to guarantee rate and availability. Comfort Inn: 405-262-3050

Small Town Weekend (Family Fun)
Small Town Weekend runs all weekend long, starting Friday night and running all weekend. Cruising in vintage cars, legal Burn-outs, car show, and a carnival atmosphere all take place at Adams Park, just north of Lake El Reno.

TRANSITION AND GEAR CHECK
Transition area is for race entrants, ONLY! Bikes, helmets, and gear will be checked prior to entry into transition area. You must have your race number prior to racking your bike. You cannot take your bike out of transition once it is racked. NO ONE will be allowed in transition area until the Race Director announces that the transition area is open.
